Stage 3 (Years 5 & 6)

Stage 3 is a very busy and exciting time for the students in Years 5 and 6. Many opportunities and experiences are provided for our senior students that develop not only academic and sporting skills but develop leadership, teamwork and a pride in their local community.

PEER SUPPORT: All Year 6 students are trained as Peer Support Leaders who conduct workshops every Wednesday in Term 2. These sessions are run K-6 and develop friendships, assertiveness and teamwork.

Prefects are involved in many community events such as ANZAC and Remembrance Day services.

Senior students participate in Outdoor Recreation Skill Camps and excursions to the goldfields and Canberra to enhance their learning and understanding of these topics.

Many opportunities exist for students interested in the Performing Arts with 3 Dance groups showcased at the Sydney North Dance Festival, Performance bands and guitar and recorder groups. Their talents are also highlighted at annual Performing Arts Evenings, Showcase and Art Shows.

Students revel in the opportunity to represent the school in Athletics, swimming, cross country and the Hornsby PSSA interschool competitions.

Stage 3 students participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular academic activities such as ICAS computer, maths, science, English competitions, Public Speaking and GATEWAYS extension days.
 Stage 3 have already enjoyed an excursion to Gibberagong at Bobbin Head as part of their field study work in geography.
